The Role
As Senior Systems Engineer, you will support development of space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and the Star Catcher Network orbital power grid. You will lead systems engineering across the full lifecycle: requirements definition, design, integration, test, verification, validation, and mission operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle-balanced system and system-of-systems solutions using interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Serve as focal point for technical issues and coordination between engineering teams.
- Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements and ensure compatibility of physical, functional and program interfaces.
- Create, track and maintain requirements using state-of-the-art tools.
- Perform analyses to optimize total system architecture.
- Lead resolution of technical issues with other subject matter experts and product teams.
- Write technical policies, procedures and documentation.
- Support business development for proposals and bids.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience in systems engineering.
- Experience leading space systems development for challenging environments and missions.
- Experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering).
- Experience with NASA/DoD lifecycle reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
- Experience with requirement tracking tools.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in small teams and building systems engineering teams.
- Familiarity with configuration management practices.
- Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
- Experience using software tools for complex analyses (Excel, MatLab, custom tools).
Employment Requirements
