About the role

As a Stage Test Engineer at our Moses Lake test site, you will collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and build test stands rapidly, then operate and maintain them efficiently. You will work across hardware and software, mechanical and electrical systems, testing rocket components, engines, and full stage vehicles. You must stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate rocket stages for ground testing
  • Manage test preparation activities
  • Lead test operations: autosequence creation, test procedure writing, and data analysis
  • Design and build fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Manage project schedules
  • Perform hazard analysis
  • Perform test data analysis
  • Safely operate high-pressure and cryogenic systems
  • Perform site maintenance tasks including shipping, receiving, and administrative work as part of a small team

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar
  • 2 years minimum experience with testing integrated rocket vehicles
  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
  • Experience with high-pressure or hazardous environments
  • Exceptional command of fundamentals
  • Willing to work outdoors for long periods
  • Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Passion for high-quality work, positive and humble attitude, willingness to take ownership of large and small tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience designing fluid systems from scratch
  • Experience creating P&IDs
  • Experience writing and operating test procedures

Compensation and benefits

Target salary by level:

  • Level 2: $109,725 - $148,470
  • Level 3: $129,150 - $193,620

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.
