At Stoke Space, we are building Nova, our fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle designed for daily flight. We are reducing launch costs, increasing availability, and improving reliability to create a scalable space industry.
As a Stage Test Engineer at our Moses Lake test site, you will collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and build test stands rapidly, then operate and maintain them efficiently. You will work with hardware and software, mechanical and electrical systems, and test rocket components, engines, and full stage vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Integrate rocket stages for ground testing
- Manage test preparation activities
- Lead test operations: autosequence creation, test procedure writing, and data analysis
- Design and build fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for test applications
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems
- Manage project schedules
- Perform hazard analysis
- Perform test data analysis
- Safely operate high pressure and cryogenic systems
- Support site operations: shipping, receiving, and administrative tasks
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar
- 2 years minimum experience with testing integrated rocket vehicles
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
- Experience with high pressure or hazardous environments
- Exceptional command of fundamentals
- Willing to work outdoors for long periods
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing fluid systems from scratch
- Experience creating P&IDs
- Experience writing and operating test procedures
- Comfortable navigating a large, spread-out test site via personal vehicle or on foot
