About the role
Reusable systems are key to connecting Earth and space. You will design and build test stands rapidly, then operate and maintain them efficiently. You'll work with hardware and software, mechanical and electrical systems, testing rocket components, engines, and full stage vehicles. You must stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
- Design and build fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for test applications
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot these systems
- Write test procedures and perform hazard analysis
- Perform test data analysis
- Safely operate high-pressure and cryogenic systems
- Manage project schedules
- Support site operations including shipping, receiving, and administrative tasks
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience (including internships and college organizations)
- Experience creating P&IDs
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
- Experience with high-pressure or hazardous environments
- Willing to work outdoors for long periods
- Able to navigate a large test site via vehicle or on foot
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional command of fundamentals
- Passion for high-quality work and team ownership
Preferred
- Experience designing fluid systems from scratch
- Experience writing and operating test procedures
Compensation and benefits
Base salary range: $95,550 to $120,645. Actual level and salary based on your specific experience and skill level.
