About the role
At Stoke Space, we are building Nova, a fully reusable launch vehicle designed for daily flight. You will work at our Moses Lake Test Site to design and build test stands rapidly, then operate and maintain them in service. You will test rocket components, engines, and full stage vehicles. The role demands focus, speed, self-direction, and willingness to learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
- Design and build fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for test applications
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot these systems once deployed
- Write test procedures and perform hazard analysis
- Safely operate high-pressure and cryogenic systems
- Analyse test data
- Manage project schedules
- Support everyday site operations including shipping, receiving, and administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent
- 0 to 3 years relevant experience (including internships and college projects)
- Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals
- Experience creating P&IDs
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
- Experience with high-pressure or hazardous environments
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Willing to work outdoors for long periods
- Comfortable navigating a large spread-out test site by vehicle or on foot
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing fluid systems from scratch
- Experience writing and operating test procedures
Compensation and benefits
Target salary range for Level 1: $95,550 to $120,645. Actual level and salary based on experience and skill.
