About the role
Reusable systems are key to connecting Earth and space. At our Moses Lake Test Site, you will design and build test stands rapidly, then operate and maintain them efficiently. You will work with hardware and software, mechanical and electrical systems, testing rocket components, engines, and full stage vehicles. You must move fast, stay focused, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
- Design and build fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for test applications
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems
- Write test procedures
- Perform hazard analysis
- Perform test data analysis
- Safely operate high pressure and cryogenic systems
- Manage project schedules
- Perform site support tasks (shipping, receiving, administrative work)
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals
- Experience creating P&IDs
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
- Experience with high pressure or hazardous environments
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Willing to work outdoors for long periods and navigate a large, spread-out test site via personal vehicle or on foot
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for high quality work, positive attitude, and willingness to take ownership of tasks
Preferred qualifications
- Experience designing fluid systems from scratch
- Experience writing and operating test procedures
Compensation and benefits
Salary range: $109,725 - $193,620 depending on level and experience.
