About Stratolaunch

Stratolaunch engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+ using air-launched, reusable Talon testbeds. You will join a team building and maintaining propulsion systems for hypersonic flight vehicles, including liquid and hybrid rocket engines.

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain fluid systems, including propellants, high-pressure, and cryogenic systems
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on fluid and gas systems, low and high pressure
  • Work alongside engineers to build, test, and maintain rocket engines and other propulsion-related equipment
  • Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, all-terrain forklifts, and overhead equipment
  • Apply hands-on problem-solving in the field with a safety-first mindset

What We Need

Fluid Systems

  • Safely work with high-pressure gas systems
  • Read and understand Plumbing and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Experience building and testing high-pressure fluid and gas systems
  • Tube fitting, bending, and familiarity with common industry fittings

Mechanical

  • Metal fabrication including benchwork layout, GD&T, and general shop equipment familiarity
  • Systems assembly from blueprints, manuals, or diagrams with minimal guidance

Preferred

  • Rocket systems or test experience
  • Liquid Oxygen (LOX) and cryogenics handling and systems maintenance
  • LOX systems handling, cleaning, and clean room experience
  • Airframe & Powerplant License

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate required
  • Level I ($29.30-$35.89): 2-5 years in aircraft maintenance, systems fabrication, or installation
  • Level II ($26.00-$46.42): 5-10 years in aircraft maintenance or systems fabrication

Base salary is established on a case-by-case basis. This position may involve operation of company vehicles.
