About the role
The Exploration Company is building spacecraft for humanity. We need an AIT Mechanical Technician to support our Nyx Capsule programme in Munich.
What you will do
- Conduct assembly operations for capsules, including bonding applications, thermal protection installations and general assembly tasks, following procedures and documenting anomalies or deviations.
- Support pressure testing of propulsion and thermal systems to ensure welded and assembled components meet required standards.
- Perform basic welding tasks using orbital welding techniques, focusing on propulsion and thermal systems.
- Assist in resolving anomalies during integration and testing.
- Support environmental testing activities, including instrumentation installation, handling and test setup preparation.
- Work with the AIT mechanical, propulsion, thermal and FGSE teams to identify missing tools and maintain a productive work environment.
What we're looking for
- Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical qualification as a Technician.
- Versatility with assembly tasks, including occasional handling of specialized instruments and tooling.
- Proficiency in safety standards and quality control during assembly and welding operations.
- Knowledge of ESA and NASA quality and safety standards.
- English speaker.
Desirable
- 2 to 3 years experience in building space vehicles.
- Welding experience, especially aluminium orbital welding.
