About the role
The Exploration Company is building innovative aerospace technologies for space transportation. As an AIT Mechanical Technician, you will be central to assembling the Nyx Capsule and supporting critical systems integration.
What you will do
- Conduct assembly operations for capsules, including bonding applications, thermal protection installations, and general mechanical assembly, following procedures and documenting any anomalies.
- Support pressure testing of propulsion and thermal systems to ensure welded and assembled components meet required standards.
- Perform orbital welding tasks on various components, focusing on propulsion and thermal systems.
- Assist in resolving integration and test anomalies.
- Support environmental testing activities, including instrumentation installation and test setup preparation.
- Collaborate with AIT propulsion, thermal, and FGSE teams on tube bending and assembly work.
- Support welding activities conducted at TEC.
- Identify missing tools and support setup of effective work environments.
What we are looking for
- Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical qualification as a Technician.
- Versatility with assembly tasks, including handling of specialized instruments and tooling.
- Proficiency in safety standards and quality control measures for assembly and welding operations.
- Knowledge of ESA and NASA quality and safety standards.
- Fluent English speaker.
Desirable experience
- 2 to 3 years building space vehicles.
- Welding experience, especially aluminium orbital welding.
