About the role

The Exploration Company is developing a reusable lunar lander capable of precision landing. We are establishing a remote test site in the United Arab Emirates for hot-fire propulsion testing and hopper flight demonstrations. As AIT MGSE Engineer, you will design and deliver the ground support equipment needed to prepare and test this spacecraft.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with engineering and AIT teams to understand and refine MGSE requirements and timelines for assembly and testing activities.
  • Conceptualise, design in CAD including manufacturing drawings, procure and commission MGSEs.
  • Confirm design compatibility with external loads using mechanical analysis, hand calculations and proof tests.
  • Discuss designs with suppliers for manufacturability and optimal processes.
  • Manage manufacturing and procurement with suppliers, answer technical questions and ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide instructions and support MGSE assembly, commissioning and implementation.

What you bring

  • Mechanical or aerospace engineering degree with focus on machine or structural design.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in CAD design and drafting using Siemens NX or similar tools.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in FE analysis using Hypermesh or similar tools.
  • Good understanding of machine design, manufacturing processes (machining, welding), design for manufacturing and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with margin calculation methodologies for beam design, bolted joints, welds and similar applications.
  • Good documentation skills including design descriptions, assembly instructions and test reports.
  • Creative problem solving and troubleshooting approach.
  • Basic hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and simple machining tools such as drilling machines.
  • Fluent English; French a plus.
  • Space AIT and MGSE design experience highly appreciated.
  • Experience with planning and execution of mechanical tests in-house a plus.
