About the role
Support the integration and test of propulsion systems and equipment for Nyx, our modular reusable orbital vehicle. You will manage the preparation of equipment integration and functional tests for the Propulsion Qualification Model (PQM) and Flight Model (FM), working with large in-house built engines, smaller thrusters, pumps and igniters.
Your responsibilities
- Manage preparation of equipment integration and functional tests for PQM and FM
- Manage qualification campaigns on mechanical components
- Procure tools, FGSE and test setups needed for AIT operations
- Plan integration procedures and schedules
- Work closely with the design team to define designs that ease integration and testing
- Run assembly, integration and testing operations on the capsule with the team
- Run functional tests including TVAC, outgassing, hydrostatic tests, proof tests and Cv characterization
- Communicate and document integration and test results clearly
- Define lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
What you bring
- Engineering degree (Master or PhD) in mechanical science, propulsion or equivalent
- Understanding of liquid propulsion systems
- Mechanical assembly skills for integration and GSE design
- Electrical test skills including data acquisition systems, Python scripting and harness work
- Organized and rigorous approach
- Hands-on problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to build and support a new team
