About the role
The Exploration Company is building Nyx, a modular reusable space orbital vehicle for cargo transport and eventual human missions. You will ensure Nyx can be successfully integrated and tested by managing AIT activities across the vehicle and its subsystems.
What you will do
- Prepare, execute and manage dynamic testing (vibration, shock) of subsystems and prototypes
- Prepare, execute and manage thermal testing (cycling, TVAC) of subsystems and prototypes
- Execute testing activities in-house (vibration test bench, thermal vacuum chamber, shock test rig) and coordinate external test facilities
- Write and review test procedures in Epsilon3, ODOO and Team Center
- Manage instrumentation procurement and installation on test items
- Lead anomaly resolution during integration and test activities
- Prepare and deliver post-test reports and documentation
- Support mechanical integration of Nyx Capsule
- Manage other AIT domains: parachute, EMC, mechanisms, Structural Test Model
- Support qualification of new processes (welding, fittings)
- Work with AIT technicians and MGSE team to define machined parts and tools
- Interact with internal teams and external stakeholders
Required experience and qualifications
- Engineering degree (Master or PhD) in mechanical science, instrumentation/test or equivalent
- Experience in AIT of aerospace vehicles
- Prior experience with vibration tables, thermal chambers or similar equipment is a plus
- Mechanical skills with electrical/digital and electromechanical knowledge appreciated
