GNC Engineer Verified today
About the role
We are building spacecraft for humanity. We need a GNC Engineer to contribute to the design, testing, verification and validation of our AOCS/GNC subsystems across the full life cycle: conceptual design, requirements, algorithm development, software implementation, testing, operations and post-flight analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement the AOCS/GNC subsystem for spacecraft missions including LEO operations, reentry, and rendezvous and docking
- Design, synthesize, test, implement, verify and validate GNC algorithms
- Implement GNC code into flight software
- Develop high fidelity 6 degrees of freedom models and simulations to analyze system performance
- Perform design optimization and dispersion analysis
- Conduct multi-disciplinary spacecraft systems trades to improve performance and reliability
- Specify, select, model and simulate AOCS/GNC hardware
- Develop software automation tools for GNC design, analysis, testing and reporting
- Validate and verify GNC software via algorithm unit testing, Monte Carlo analysis, software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Report test results and analysis with focus on efficiency and documentation automation
What you need
- MSc in Aerospace or related engineering discipline (higher degree advantageous)
- Strong understanding of classical dynamics, orbital and flight mechanics
- Strong understanding of control and estimation techniques
- Experience with flight physics simulation
- Software development experience in C++, Python and MATLAB/Simulink
- Fluent in English (German or French an asset)
- Motivation to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven start-up environment
About us
We are agile and make decisions fast while keeping our goals and systems in mind. We are open and collaborative, transparent about risks and obstacles. We are democratising space and offer a rare opportunity to work on commercial spacecraft.
Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are provided where applicable. All offers are contingent on successful completion of a background check.
