About the role
The Exploration Company is building innovative aerospace technologies for space transportation. You will join the Launch Systems Team in the Future Programs Department as a Launcher Propulsion Engineer, reporting to the Lead Launcher Programs.
You will help conceptualize new launch and space transportation solutions, mature critical technologies, and drive projects toward implementation.
Key responsibilities
Define propulsion system architectures for future TEC launcher programs:
- Perform trade-offs and technical investigations at system and subsystem level
- Define system-level requirements and ensure flow down to lower-level requirements
- Define concept of operations and operational procedures for propulsion systems
- Define and maintain the functional and product breakdown of the system
- Create and maintain technical budgets for mass, propellant, inert gas, power and other parameters
- Contribute to development, V&V and industrialization plans
- Contribute to MAIT concept trade-offs
- Lead co-engineering sessions with external partners: set agendas, coordinate priorities, record minutes and track actions
Own propulsion-specific future projects, work packages and bids:
- Support commercial and program teams in writing and negotiating proposals
- Provide propulsion system related project work
- Coordinate datapack definition and delivery, manage RIDs and day-to-day subcontractor liaison
What you bring
- MSc in aerospace engineering, systems engineering or related field
- 5+ years experience in the aerospace industry, preferably in a launch system program
- Experience in early development phase (Phase 0/A/B) propulsion system engineering
- Programming knowledge in Python, Fortran, Matlab or similar
- Experience with EcosimPro or comparable analysis tools
- Hands-on operational experience in propulsion testing or launch
- Fluent English; German, French or Italian is an asset
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
