About the role

The Exploration Company is developing cutting-edge propulsion systems for space transportation. You will contribute to the development, testing, analysis and refinement of the Nyx Earth Propulsion System through multiple development models, spanning functional tests, cold flows and system-level hot fires.

You will bridge the gap between design and hardware testing for the Nyx spacecraft propulsion system, working closely with design and testing teams to ensure seamless integration and validation of propulsion subsystems. You will report to the Propulsion Development Models Principal Engineer.

During the design phase, you will:

  • Work with pressure and feed system engineers to define test setup configurations, ensuring representativeness and testability
  • Conduct fluid modelling and analyses to verify test rig repeatability against flight systems
  • Perform test predictions and support creation of test plans for propulsion subsystems
  • Design and develop propulsion analysis and post-processing tools to support testing and design maturation
  • Collaborate with pressure and feed system engineers to anchor fluidic models and assess against test data

During testing phase, you will:

  • Provide on-site support during propulsion test campaigns, working with test operators and conductors
  • Analyze test campaigns in real-time across different parameters, ensuring results quality and timely resolution of anomalies
  • Conduct pre-test and post-test reviews and elaborate test reports
  • Update and correlate fluidic models based on test results
  • Provide actionable insights to identify key performance indicators and critical scenarios

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in complex fluid systems, fluidic modeling, data analysis and post-processing
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and combustion principles
  • Proficiency in Python for fluid analyses, data post-processing and model anchoring
  • Experience with EcosimPro (or similar software) for high-fidelity numerical twin analysis
  • Proficiency in conducting fluid analyses using classical hand calculations
  • Familiarity with test facilities or storable propulsion systems (asset)
  • Experience with storable or cryogenic fluidic systems (plus)
  • Excellent collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive team player with positive and flexible attitude
