About the role
As an intern at The Exploration Company, you will work on crewed vehicle development. You will design, develop, test, and improve engineering systems and technology under mentor guidance on real-world aerospace projects.
What you will do
- Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, test, and improve products, systems, or processes
- Develop, test, debug, and document technical solutions, tools, or prototypes
- Apply engineering principles and coursework to solve technical problems
- Analyze data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to support engineering decisions
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and technical discussions
- Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project updates
- Support testing, validation, and quality assurance activities
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum three months of relevant engineering experience through prior internships, co-op programs, or industry projects
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (due to ITAR/EAR regulations)
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning January 2027
- Able to provide your own relocation and housing
Preferred experience
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
- Six months or more of relevant engineering experience
- Hands-on experience through academic projects, student organizations, internships, research, or personal projects
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with relevant engineering tools, programming languages, or technical platforms
- Passion for learning new technologies and applying engineering principles to real-world challenges
