About the Role

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure. Haven Demo's 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Haven-1 is expected to become the world's first commercial space station when it launches in 2027.

You will report to the Manager of Avionics Testing and support the development of systems required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Long Beach, California.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain equipment calibration tracking for avionics test systems
  • Work with Metrology to coordinate equipment recalibration
  • Coordinate physical transfer and kitting of materials and components to support test system builds
  • Support manufacturing schedules by maintaining stock levels for consumable components
  • Support development, acceptance, qualification, and investigative test campaigns via build and operation of test systems
  • Apply standard industry ESD best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic comprehension of electrical principles, wiring concepts, and electrical safety
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, test, operations, aerospace, or other relevant role
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalency certificate

Preferred Experience

  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience in aerospace industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability environments
  • Metrology experience
  • Knowledge of JIRA project management software and Confluence
  • Ability to navigate different computer software programs
  • Effective teamwork in high-stress environments
  • 2+ years of experience using electronics equipment (programmable power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes)
  • Experience with aerospace testing standards (SMC-S-016)

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $26-$36 USD per hour (California). Compensation varies based on experience and demonstrated capability.
