Integration Technician Verified today
Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure. Haven-1 is expected to become the world's first commercial space station when it launches in 2027. We are recruiting an Integration Technician, 2nd Shift, to support the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
Role Details
This is a full-time, non-exempt position in Long Beach, California.
Shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm
What You Will Do
- Assemble, install, and test flight hardware in accordance with procedures, specifications, and test instructions
- Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions to execute integration operations
- Operate precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers
- Perform hands-on operations with large and small fragile assemblies
- Perform high-pressure pneumatic testing
- Operate mechanical hand and power tools independently
- Collaborate with production engineers and quality personnel to develop, execute, and document integration activities
- Maintain compliance with ESD best practices during all operations
- Ensure all work meets time, safety, and quality standards
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 6+ years of experience in hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environments
- Experience assembling and testing propulsion systems, avionics components, and harnesses
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
- Experience with flight hardware in fast-paced production environments
- Manual dexterity with machinery and hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and reports
- NASA-STD-8739.3 and NASA-STD-8739.4 certification (current or previous)
- IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification (current or previous)
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- Experience in cleanroom environments
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment
- Teamwork and clear communication with engineering and production personnel
- Ability to adapt quickly in dynamic work environments
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed to support mission milestones
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
- Ability to climb ladders and work comfortably in tight or confined spaces
- Willingness to travel for extended periods (weeks at a time) to support vehicle testing and integration at remote sites including Mojave, Ohio, and Florida
Compensation
Pay range: $23 to $57 USD per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated capability.
