About the Role
As FPGA Engineer in our Products line, you will design cutting-edge FPGA components for space and national security applications including Software Defined Radios, Digital Processing Systems, Space Rated Cameras, Star Trackers and Laser Communications. You report to the VP of Product Design and work onsite in San Diego, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and test complex, high-speed FPGA designs (mostly Xilinx) implementing high-throughput algorithms
- Design and test embedded applications using the Xilinx Zynq family
- Develop architectures compatible with embedded Linux environments
- Design and support top-level system simulations
- Translate system requirements into FPGA architectures
- Implement and document FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL, System Verilog, etc.)
- Support systems integration and Test Engineering to produce functional designs
- Implement and contribute to the architecture of multi-megapixel camera systems, interfacing with Camera Link and SpaceWire standards
- Design systems capable of handling Imager data and Image processing for embedded camera development
- Create test plans to assure integrated performance meets specification
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with firmware design, integration and test, preferably with the Xilinx family
- Experience implementing and documenting FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL, System Verilog, etc.)
- Experience with lab equipment
- Experience drafting comprehensive technical documentation
- Capable of multi-tasking on multiple projects and supporting production activities
- Strong technical background and ability to come up-to-speed quickly on new technologies
- Good communication skills and ability to work both individually and collaboratively
Clearance and Eligibility
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance at the level required for the position. To conform to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Person: a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $125,000 - $185,000 USD. Salary placement depends on experience, skills and location.
