About the role

NDT Inspector/Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for Voyager Lunar Systems. You will manage and oversee NDT operations, qualify and certify personnel, write and review procedures, perform inspections, and support internal and external audits. This position reports to the Electromechanical Technician Lead and is based onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.

What you will do

  • Serve as technical authority for assigned NDT methods. Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to support manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory codes.
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using radiographic testing (RT), visual testing (VT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), and ultrasonic testing (UT).
  • Conduct welding inspections in accordance with AWS, ASME, API, and customer specifications.
  • Prepare and approve NDT procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on NDE techniques, methods, and applications.
  • Provide training, qualifications, certification, and professional development.
  • Review and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) records.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Identify weld and dimensional errors and recommend corrective actions.

Minimum qualifications

  • Level II RT certification in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NAS-410.
  • High school diploma or technical degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in welding inspection and NDT.
  • Experience with ASME Section V, VIII, IX, API 1104, API 650, or AWS D17.1.

Preferred qualifications

  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Current ASNT NDT Level III in RT with nondestructive testing background.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes and knowledge related to orbital tube welding.

  • Ability to work alternate shifts, weekends, and extra hours as schedules require.
