What You'll Do
- Own the design, cable routing, and build of satellite harnesses
- Work with electrical, mechanical, GNC, and avionics engineers to create harness drawings and designs
- Select components and determine manufacturing processes to ensure reliability across the mission lifetime
- Coordinate harness builds with contract manufacturers, balancing schedule and design requirements
- Design and build test harnesses for DVT, environmental testing, subsystem debug, and other test setups
- Interpret PCBA schematics, technical drawings, and test plans
- Develop and maintain work instructions, connector mate logs, and test documentation
- Support hardware troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 2 or more years of experience in electrical harness design
- Ability to read and interpret PCBA schematics, technical drawings, test plans, and procedures
- Experience with harness test equipment (multimeters, Hipot testers) and building test fixtures
- Familiarity with Windows-based PC operating systems
- Clear verbal and written communication in English
- Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles and standards (IPC, MIL-STD, SMC)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing, handling, and integrating spaceflight hardware
- Exposure to spacecraft environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling)
- Experience working in cleanroom environments
- Familiarity with aerospace documentation standards and configuration control
